The Mystery Ranch 2 Day Assault Pack review finds the trip-zip system and heavy-duty construction are only overshadowed by one thing, comfort. Reviewers raved about the yoke system, MOLLE for days, and the high-quality materials. There are minor gripes about the tri-zip system, and if that system makes it easier or not to pack. Mystery Ranch 2 Day Assault Pack Expert Reviews

Charles + Hudson says:

“I pack light and was able to fit an extra pair of shoes, clothes, laptop, and camera gear for my trip. The key feature in this bag is the 3-Zip design.

The last thing you want to do when you’re wearing gloves is to fumble with zipper pulls. The Rip-Zip allows you to just stick your fingers just below the top panel and pull up. If you need greater access you can open the bag right down the middle as well.”

Brooks Review says:

“Mystery Ranch is known for the tri-zip, and the comfort of their harnesses. This bag is no exception because even though it is not a full blown Futura system, it is impressively comfortable. It carries gear like a dream.

All in all, if you are not trying to ruck a bag, this might be one of the most comfortable EDC bags I have worn, including my beloved GR1s. And that comfort is out of the box (after adjustments) no break in needed. The straps, the harness, the yoke, and all the adjustments combine for pure luxury.”

Outdoor Aesthetics says:

“Even after many years, the characteristic 3-zip design does not get old. Despite outsourcing the production to Asia, the 2DAP does not have to sacrifice quality in any way. The opposite is the case.

The processing of the high-quality materials such as 500D Cordura and water-repellent YKK zippers is unprecedented and is in no way inferior to the made in USA styles.

The 2 Day Assault Pack is a more than successful reduced version of the 3 Day Assault Pack. It looks great not only in nature, but also in the city and we get a clear buy recommendation.”

The Perfect Pack says:

“The back of the pack has a reinforced wall lined with very tight PALS webbing: this is a nice feature for sure but I found very limited use of this webbing.

The one time I did use them was to secure a 35-pound plate to the interior of the pack. Not only did this work incredibly well, keeping the weight right against my back, but it also held tight after a full 19-mile ruck march.

After removing the weight from the PALS webbing I was amazed to see that the stitching was fulling intact with no frays. If this does not speak to the quality of the bag, then I don’t know what does..”

Carryology says:

“Need a bag that can tackle overnight trips, a variety of urban missions, and outdoor adventures alike? The Mystery Ranch 2 Day Assault Pack is ready for it all. Exterior MOLLE webbing lets you tailor the pack to various setups.

Inside you’ll find a range of organization options, including a suspended laptop sleeve and separate tablet sleeve. Additionally, the laptop can be accessed either through the main compartment or via an external side zip. Rounding things off is an adjustable harness and removable waist belt for dialed-in carry comfort.”
